A life-long resident of San Antonio, Mr. Kraus was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy and John William Jack Kraus, Jr.
We are especially indebted to his mother's aunt and uncle, John and Betty Petty who raised John after the untimely death of his parents.
William P. "W.P." Latham remained his best friend through thick and thin.
John was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the daily challenges of sales in the car industry.
He is survived by his wife, Erica M. Kraus; sons, Hunter Austin, Colten Jack and Mason Anton Kraus; parents-in-law, Kenneth R. Sirink, M.D. and his wife, Margaret; brother-in-law, LCMDR Steven Sirinek; aunts, Phyliss Alvarado and Lauri Miner; uncles Raymond Kraus and Russell Kraus, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 18, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
Interment will follow in Mission Burial Park North.
