

He was born in Fall River, Massachusetts and is known for his didactic memory and his love of languages. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who enjoyed traveling with his “Devine Bride”, Carolyn, in the United States, in Europe, in Asia, and in Central America for 65 years.
He is survived by his sons, David J. Kuttner and his wife, Nora, Mark P. Kuttner and his wife, Alma; Joseph W. Kuttner and his wife, Tess; grandchildren, Cindy and her husband Plas, Christina and her husband, Chris, Miguel, Mathew, Patrick, Catherine, Sean and his wife Liz, Kimberly and her husband, Gavin; and great-grandchildren, Blake, Bridget, Hailey, Dylan, Scarlett, Royce, Catalina, Mila, and Colleen (Grace).
A visitation for John will be held Monday, October 16, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. A committal service will occur Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209.
