John H. Lasater

John H. Lasater, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 5, 2019, in San Antonio, TX. He was born on December 12, 1934 in San Antonio, TX to Jim and Onie Lasater. He was a faithful Christian, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Mr. Lasater is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife Louise of 52 years, his parents, his brother Aaron and his sister Janelle. He is survived by his children Laura and Steve Crocker, John and Gina Lasater, Janet Allen, Scott and Cara Lasater, and Daniel and April Lasater, 15 grandchildren, Ben, Tammy, Krista, Julia, Lauralee, April, Trisha, Scott Andrew, Austin, Aaron, Erica, Johnna, Abbey, John Dale(J.D.) and Jase, and 29 great grandchildren, Hannah, Grace, Charlie, Eden, Annabelle, Daisy, James John(JJ), Elissa, Joslyn, Delaney, Nola, Canaan, Maydin, Isla, Shannon, Bryan, Lisa, David, Mark, Mary, Tyler, Ava, Maylee, Vivian, Katherine, Heath, Eleanor, Jolie and Capri.

He had been a member of several churches that included West Avenue Church of Christ in San Antonio, Church of Christ Southside in Arlington, South Central Church of Christ in Crowley, O’Connor Rd. Church of Christ and University Oaks Church of Christ in San Antonio. He worked for Farmer Brothers Coffee Company for 37 years in San Antonio and Arlington, TX until his retirement in 2001.

A visitation will be observed Friday, January 18, 2019, from 6- 8pm at Sunset Funeral Home on Austin Hwy in San Antonio, TX, and the Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 1pm with burial at Sunset Memorial Park immediately to follow.
