

John received his Bachelor's Degree in education from Midwestern State and his Master's Degree from Trinity University in San Antonio. John taught elementary school for SAISD and became the youngest principle in the district. John retired after 34 years as an educator in 1990.
On December 24, 1960, John married the love of his life Tamyra Ann Lake and together they raised two children in San Antonio TX.
John was active in the Episcopal Church and served in many local parishes as a retreat leader, Eucharistic Minister and with Stephens's ministry. John was also very active in the A.A. community and had almost 24 years of meaningful and heartfelt sobriety and impacted countless lives with his caring attention.
John was preceded in death by his parents and son James.
John is survived and grieved by his wife, Tammy; Son Michael and Jennifer; 2 Grandsons, Jon Emerson and Monique, Anthony and Lauren, as well as countless friends.
