

He is preceded in death by his father, John Ross Hill and his mother Louise Sanders. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Deanie whom he met on a blind date and married upon return from the service in 1948; his daughter, Jenny Burkett, his son-in-law, Bill Burkett, their children, Tillery, Tyler, Bonnie, and Dusty; his son, John Ross Nolan Jr., his daughter-in-law, Janet Nolan and their children, Christina and Melissa; his brother, Bill Clutterham, and numerous other relatives and many dear friends.
Ross retired after 25 years as a masonry contractor and 20 years as a sales representative for Alamo Cement. He was a member of the Rotary Club, the Elks Club, the Masonry Contractors Association, the American Legion, Numerous dance clubs and Covenant Presbyterian Church.
One of his main pleasures in life was his service and love of his family. He was a compassionate person who was always there to lend a helping hand to everyone.
Ross was an exemplary man who was good humored, hard working, disciplined and kind hearted. The love, strength and affection he gave his family and friends will be in our hearts forever. He will be greatly missed and remembered always.
We send a special thanks to his family, friends, Vitas Hospice and Terry Reynolds, an exceptional Vitas caretaker, who helped in many ways with his care these two last years.
