John Michael Sabatino, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on January 11, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on September 26, 1942, in Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and lived in Jeannette Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Anthony Thomas Sabatino and Elizabeth Carol Borrelli. John lived a life exemplifying faith, love for his family and service to others.
John proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1968. During this time, he trained as a Russian linguist at Syracuse University in New York. Later, he was transferred to San Antonio, Texas, where he began building his career, pursued his education, and started the family he cherished deeply.
After completing his military service, John graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1977 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He earned his Certified Public Accountant license in 1981 and completed his Master of Business Administration in 1983.
John enjoyed a fulfilling career, dedicating 26 years to Butter Krust Bakery, where his integrity and work ethic earned him the respect of colleagues and friends. In 1999, he acquired a taxes and bookkeeping business, which he transformed into his own CPA firm. Through his work, John touched the lives of many, often blending his professional expertise with a heartfelt ministry. He shared his love for Jesus and offered encouragement to those seeking his guidance.
John was a devoted member of Concordia Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder and found immense joy in his faith community. His unwavering devotion to God and his exemplary leadership left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
John is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Betty Lou Sabatino. Together, they built a family rooted in love and support. He is also survived by his three children: Tony Sabatino and his wife, Jana; Addie Sabatino; and Raymond Sabatino and his wife, Teresa.
John was a proud grandfather to Nikki Sabatino, Kimberly and her husband, John Farnel, Joshua Sabatino, Grayson Tackett, Bailey and her husband, Robert Britt, Victoria Sabatino, Julia Sabatino, and John Michael Sabatino II.
John was also a proud great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren: Rhodes Farnel, Benjamin Farnel, Carter Britt, Riley Britt, and Tyler Britt.
John’s legacy is one of kindness, humility, and faith. He was a man of integrity who led by example and dedicated his life to serving others. His memory will forever be a source of inspiration and love for his family and friends.
Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church, 16801 Huebner Road, San Antonio, Texas 78258. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North.
