

John Curtis Singleton, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on February 5, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on September 14, 1942, John lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, and love for his family.
John spent much of his life working in the oil field. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were qualities admired by all who knew him. John was known for his outgoing personality, strong will and generosity. When not working, John enjoyed bird-watching, collecting guns, fishing and traveling with his family.
John was married for 56 years to the love of his life, Helen Kay (Fuchs) Singleton. Together, they built a life filled with love, respect, and countless cherished memories. He was also the proud father of his daughter, Johnna Kay (Singleton) Maxwell, who was the light of his life. His family was always his greatest priority, and his devotion to them was unwavering.
A great lover of animals, John found joy in the companionship and loyalty of his pets. His kindness extended to all creatures, great and small, and he cherished the bond he shared with his fur babies throughout his life.
John’s legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered for his integrity, his unwavering support for those he loved, and the joy he brought to the lives of those around him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Mary Margaret Page and John Curtis Singleton, and stillborn son, John Curtis Singleton III. He is survived by his wife, Helen Kay Singleton; daughter, Johnna Kay (Singleton) Maxwell and son-in-law David William Maxwell; and a host of other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A private celebration will be held on February 15 in Corpus Christi to honor John’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the Animal Defense League.
John will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
