To the family of Mr. Tagliarino I wish to express my condolences. I worked for Mr. Tagliarino during my early teenage years around his home and to this day, nearly 30 years later I think of him often.  I cannot overstate his importance to me during my youth.

I wish Heaven had a phone so I could hear your voice again. I thought of you today but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name!! What I have is memories and pictures in a frame!

I can never put into words what mr. Tag meant to me in my career.  I would thank him for his service to the country and for helping people like me along the road of life.  He was a great leader in business and taught me a lot about the refining industry.  With my deepest regards,  Joe B. Phillips

To the Tagliarino Family: May the Lord comfort you by the presence and prayers of friends during this time of sorrow and in the days and years to come. I accompany you in your sorrow and lift you up before the Lord.
I am a Missionary Catechist of Divine Providence ministering in the Diocese of Dodge City in Kansas. May the Lord reward your kindness and generosity to our Congregation.

Your Florida PPQ Family extends deepest sympathies to you and your family at this time of loss and grief.  Please accept our condolences and support at the passing of your father.

Thanks for all of these kind and caring messages.  I thought I would share with you my thoughts about my Father that I gave at the Mass on Sunday.  

My Father

I always think about my Father being 28 years old.

How many of you here remember when you were 28 years old or even what it is like to be 28?  For those younger than 28 – think about what it must be like.  

Imagine being 28, fresh out of World War II, and walking into a dance studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and seeing a beautiful redhead dance instructor for the first time.

Imagine being 28 and marrying this beautiful, crazy redhead who already had three children – including an infant son.

It must have been hard.  But my Dad did it, and he raised all of us with a lot of love and laughter, and yes, happiness.

My Father was a builder.  A great builder.  He built a great marriage of 56 years.  It was not always easy – in fact he would say it was very hard.  But he did it, and I think he was proud of his beautiful wife, and he loved her very much.

My Father built a beautiful – and quite large – family.  I never understood why there were so many of us.  But he came from a large family, and I think he liked it that way.  It is a wonderful and caring family, and he built it – along with my mother – to be one of his proudest accomplishments.

My Father built a great business at Tesoro Petroleum.  He built great refineries in Wyoming, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, and in Alaska.  They are monuments to his great skill and knowledge, and I have always been proud of him for building them, although I never told him.

My Father could build great things with his hands. He built cool tree houses and complex playhouses for my sisters and me.  He was an engineering genius when it came to those things.  I will always love him for building a tree house in Connecticut for my children.  He was so pleased to do that, and I hope my children will always remember those days.  They were happy days with my parents and my Father.

My Father was a builder.  He built a great family with a loving wife.  A great company and professional career.  He built a good life for all of us, and I am proud of him and loved him for that.  

It was very hard for my Father to talk about love, and although he did not talk about it much, I know he loved me.  And in the end, I am proud that he was my Father.

What a wonderful man John was!  We shall always treasure the memories.

We remember John fondly on his and Jane's visits to Connecticut to see Scott and his family.  We spent a few thanksgivings together and we will miss him.  Please know our thoughts are with you.  We are very sorry for your loss.  Love from the Eugenio-Korte's -- Eric, Doris, Evan and Elliot

It has been a very long time since I last saw any one in the Tagliarino family, but I remember all of you when you lived in Carrizo Springs and have often wondered where you moved to from that small town. I am very sorry for your loss and can only tell you that with time the pain will lessen. May Our Lord be with each of you in your time of sorrow, and may he help you to know that your husband, father, and grandfather is with him now, and that John's spirit will always live on in each of you and through all the good things he did in his life. Thank you for sharing some of your life memories in the photo gallery. From one veteran to another, I salute your father for his service to his country and to his fellow man. May you find peace and comfort in the days ahead and may you know that John will live on always.

John was an amazing man and I'm honored I had the pleasure of knowing him. May God comfort you and sustain you through this difficult time. He will live in our hearts forever.

Mr. T look down on us once in a while, as we try and live our lives as you lived yours.
