John Clifton Taylor

John Clifton Taylor passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022. He was born February 15, 1947, to Lois Jordan Taylor and Raymond E. Taylor in San Antonio, Texas. John attended school in the Harlandale School District. He joined the United States Air Force in 1964 his junior year in high school. He attended basic training at Lackland Air Force Base. Upon completion of training, he was assigned to Edwards AFB in California for Air Police training. He was then assigned to Brooks AFB in San Antonio, Texas. John was promoted to Sergeant and completed his Air Force career there.

John was married to the former Jana Fey Jones, and they had three children together Cynthia, Kieth, and Robert. In 1967 John joined the Austin Police department. He returned to school and received a bachelors degree in criminal justice. After serving as a traffic three-wheel motorcycle policeman he was later promoted to Sergeant and assigned to homicide division. During his time with the Austin Police Department, John volunteered to work at the University of Texas football games. He became a huge fan of the Longhorns. He also enjoyed attending and watching the Houston Astros.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Raymond Taylor; three sisters, Carolyn Taylor Hall, Jeannie Taylor Otten, Cherry Taylor Hall; and infant son, Robert Clifton. John is survived by his children, Jason Taylor and spouse, Hana; Cindy Taylor and spouse, Gary; Kieth Taylor and spouse, Loyda; grandchildren, Mason Taylor, Kieth Taylor Jr., Lonnie Clenney, and Joeseph Clenney. He is also survived by his two brothers, Donald Taylor and spouse Beverley, David Taylor and wife Rhonda and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

John will be buried with full military honor. A reception will be held afterwards at Park Hills Baptist Church located at 17747 San Pedro Ave., San Antonio Texas 78232.
