He was very active in the St. Anthony Parish at Ft. Sam Houston. He touched many lives and will be missed by all.
John is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Helen C. Barr of San Antonio; daughters, Gwendolyn A. Aikman of Schertz, Karen C. Trainor and husband, Michael of Cibolo, Victoria S. Barr, Amy J. Tramel and husband, Glen, all of San Antonio; grandchildren, Sean M. Aikman, T. J. Aikman, Chelsea A. Tramel, Noah J. Barr; brother, Robin Barr; sisters, Kristine Hutson, all of Grand Rapids, MI, Deborah Kanouse and husband, Bill of Rockford, MI, and Pat Bonnell; and step-mother, Jan Barr.
