
Colonel Goodley was born in Evansville, Indiana on April 1, 1938. Son of Chester V. and Amy Louise Sights Goodley. He attended Kiski Prep School in Saltsbrug, Pennsylvania prior to entering the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Co., in July 1957. Colonel Goodley graduated from the Air Force Academy in July 1961 with a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission as a second lieutenant. He earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Auburn University and graduated from the Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell Air Force Base, AL. in 1972 and the US Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, PA, in 1978. Colonel Goodley attended flight training at Moody Air Force Base, GA. and received his pilot wings in August 1962. His first assignment was an Instructor Pilot at Moody AFB, followed by an exchange tour with the US Navy. He was stationed at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida, where he became carrier-landing qualified and was also selected for a "Top Gunner" award. Colonel Goodley was then assigned to the 90th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Bien Hoa and Phu Khat Air Bases, Republic of Vietnam. He served as Chief Controller and Training Officer, Directorate of Command & Control, Headquarters US Air Forces in Europe, at Lindsey Air Station and Ramstein Air Base, Germany. From Germany his assignment was Operations Officer for the 23 Tactical Air Support Squadron, Bergstrom Air Force Base. Next was a assignment to Osan, South Korea where he was the Director, 5th Tactical Air Support Group Operations. Colonel Goodley was then selected to Command the 3636 Combat Crew Training Wing, USAF Survival School, Fairchild Air Force Base, WA., followed by an assignment to the Office of the USAF Inspector General at Norton Air Force Base, CA. He retired 1 July 1991. Colonel Goodley was a Command Pilot with more than 4300 flying hours including 244 combat hours in the F-100 Super Saber Fighter aircraft. He has flown numerous aircraft which included: USAF T-33, T-37, T-38, T-39, F-100, USNavy T2b, T-4, & OV-10 and C-118. His decorations include; the Legion of Merit Medal, Air Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, US Navy Achievement Medal, and numerous other awards and decorations. Colonel Goodley is survived by his beloved wife, the former Elenora (Casey)Dugosh of Bandera, Texas, and 3 loving daughters; Lori Pierce, Joanie Malarchuk, Bonnie Goodley Biasiolli, and 9 grandchildren; Sarah, Kimberley, Jennifer, and Michael Pierce, Samantha and Colby Biasiolli, and Kelly, Jed & Dallyn Malarchuk.
