Johnnie was born and raised in Bixby, OK, to John Yocham and Marie Biggs on January 6, 1940. He received his GED and went into the Military. While stationed in Germany, he met his wife Gisela, whom he married on October 24, 1962. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1978 as a Sergeant First Class where he taught at the Health Academy on Fort Sam Houston. He continued his career as a certified and licensed Orthotist and Prosthetist and worked for the Medical Center VA Hospital and other San Antonio Orthotics and Prosthetics shops. He was well known in the Industry. His patients, co-workers, and students loved him. He really enjoyed working with his hands, helping people, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Gisela Yocham, his oldest son and partner – Johnny Ray Yocham and Gloria, his youngest son and his wife – Steven Yocham and Julie, and his grandchildren Jeremy, Mitchell, and Devin.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 12:30 pm, Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
