

Johnny was a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought comfort and laughter to those around him. Johnny loved walking downtown, listening to all kinds of music, and treating himself to his favorite foods—pizza and Coca-Cola.
Johnny is remembered by his daughters, Jennifer Cortinas and her husband Louis David Cortinas and Monica Gallegos and her husband Mike Gallegos; his cherished 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, his sisters, Irma Dominguez, Diane Sanchez, Alice Rodriguez, and Nellie Trujillo; Johnny also leaves behind 10 nieces and nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Johnny is reunited in Heaven with his father, Espiridion Martinez; his mother, Eustacia M. Torres; his brother, Delfino Martinez; and his grandson, Mike Gallegos Jr.
Johnny’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His family finds peace in knowing he is now resting peacefully and reunited with his loved ones who welcomed him home.
A Committal Service with Military Honors will be conducted on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 10:30am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio Texas 78209, family and friends are kindly asked to arrive 15 minutes before at Shelter 3 so honors can be conducted promptly.
