Johnny Julian Martinez, age 64, born on August 1, 1955, passed away on July 6, 2020. Johnny was the oldest son of Julian and Eudelia Martinez, who preceded him in death. Johnny was a US Army Veteran, having served 23 years with the US Army and Texas Army National Guard. He loved his family and loved to dance.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 23 years, Nelda Martinez; children: Johnny-Angel, Natalina (Mario), and Jacob Martinez; his grandchildren: Jeremiah and Stephanie; his siblings: Isabel Martinez, Sandra DelaFuente, David (Diana) Martinez, and Norma Martinez; parents-in-law: Sigifredo (Rebecca) Melo; and sisters-in-law: Patricia (Joe) Silva, Sandra (Joe) Huerta), and Melissa (Ruben) Gutierrez, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 27, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. On Tuesday, July 28, 2020, a procession will depart the funeral home at 8:45 a.m for a 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1114 Willow Street, in San Antonio. Interment will follow promptly at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Due to the Covid-19 declaration by the City, County and State officials, The Visitation will be on enforced rotation and limited to no more than 50 people including the Clergy in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. With today's COVID-19 pandemic, only 25 people (immediate family) are allowed at the pavilion site at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Everyone else must remain in their cars while the Full Military Honors are presented.
All guests must wear face coverings at all times while in the building.
