Jon Francis Dodson

Jon was a man who valued his family and beliefs above all else. His passion was cooking, and he strived to become a food truck and restaurant owner. He had a great sense of humor, and he could walk into any room and brighten it up with the right joke. Humor and comedy brought him a lot of joy and healing. These things tie together in his desire to bring others happiness. He was such a loving husband and father, and treasured his son. He was thrilled to learn that the second child he and his wife will be having is another son, who will be born in January 2022. Jon and James understood each other so well, and James was often the first one to laugh at Jon's jokes. He attended Covenant church with his wife and son.

Even though their marriage was short, Jon had such an open heart that Rebekah felt she had known him forever. Saying he will be deeply missed does not sum up how to feel about what he brought to this life they had created and he will be missed greatly by so many.

Jon leaves behind his loving family; wife Rebekah Elizabeth Dodson, sons James Francis Dodson & Benjamin Jon Dodson, his parents John & Margaret Dodson, his brothers Alec Dodson, Christian Dodson, Graham Dodson (Diana Dodson). His nieces, Catalina Contreras, Isabella Contreras, and Sammy Narvaez (Jake Narvaez) and their children: Jolene, Shiloh and Layla Narvaez. His nephew, Cido Dodson (Melanie Dodson) and their child Blakely Dodson. His Aunt Mary Beth Johnson (John Heimke) and Uncle Frank Weinholt (Kathy Weinholt), his cousin Katie Weinholt. And his father and mother in law Stephen & Brenda Tassio and sisters in law Kathy Welter, Sheila Tassio, and Stephanie Garvin. All will cherish the wonderful memories they have made with Jon.

A visitation for Jon will be held Monday, October 25, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio, TX 78266.
