Jonathon Steven Gularte, age 25, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012 in Spring Branch, Texas. He was born June 16, 1986 in St. Louis, Missouri to Steven and Karen Gularte. He graduated from San Antonio Christian School, where he played basketball and football and grew to become the brilliantly-minded man so many loved.
Throughout his life, Jonathon could always be counted on for adventure. From an early age, he learned to love fishing from his Grandpa Jack, and whenever he could, he would be down by the river with a pole in hand. He was fearless and creative, two traits that aided in his quest for unchartered territory and provided much entertainment among both friends and family. Jonathon excelled at everything he put his mind to, and he could fix practically anything.
For the past two years, Jonathon worked as a pharmacy technician at H-E-B, where he was greatly loved by the pharmacists and his fellow coworkers.Without a doubt, Jonathon will be forever remembered for his loyalty and compassion. He would never hesitate to help someone in need, and he gave to others with a selfless love.
However, the two words that could best describe Jonathon are simply that he had a big heart. In fact, he always put others' needs before his own. As a friend quoted "The world is hard pressed to produce a more kind and compassionate heart." People fell in love with his sweet smile and goofy grin, and he brought a caring spirit with him wherever he went. Though he went before us, friends and family can rejoice in the fact that we will see him again one day in heaven.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Manuel and Eula Gularte.
Jonathon is survived by his parents; 4 siblings, Elizabeth Macias (Micah), Michael Gularte (Brittany Simpson), Nicholas Gularte and Katie Gularte; grandparents Jack and Blanche Clime; aunts Stacey McKinney (Charles) and Leona Britt; nephew Jace Macias; 2 cousins Chelsey Inman and Rachel Garrett.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2012, at Porter Loring Mortuary North Chapel.
