J. Morton Walker, age 82, died peacefully at home on Monday, November 11, 2002 surrounded by his loved ones. Mr. Walker was a native of Dumas, Texas. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1938. He served in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy in the Infantry in World War II. After the war he attended Texas Christian University, graduating in 1948. He earned a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Minnesota in 1952. He was a professor of theater at the University of Minnesota and Kansas City University, later the University of Missouri Kansas City. He was cofounder of Kansas City Lyric Theater and Missouri Repertory Theatre. He retired in 1978 and moved to San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Robohm Walker. Survived by his daughter, Cecyl Walker Dolgner; son-in-law, Rex Dolgner; four grandchildren; several foster grandchildren; and two foster great grandchildren. The Rev. Milan Maymar and The Very Rev.
