It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Jose Raul Castoreno, a loving, son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left us on March 29, 2025. Born on February 26, 1963, in San Antonio, Texas, to Federico and Luisa Castoreno, Jose lived a life filled with love, faith, creativity, and adventure.
Jose was a man of many passions and interests, but at the core of it all, he was a dedicated family man. His devotion to his loved ones was evident in everything he did, always putting family first. His faith in God was an essential part of who he was, and he found strength in his belief, often walking many miles to attend church, sharing his love for the Lord with all who crossed his path.
Known for his sweetness and love of sweets, Jose’s gentle nature was matched by his wisdom and creativity. His hands were always busy, whether crafting something special, cooking his next delicious meal, or making those around him laugh with his jokes and playful pranks. His boundless energy and childlike spirit brought joy to everyone he met, and he had a special way of challenging those around him to be the best versions of themselves.
Jose was a true foodie, always seeking out new flavors and sharing his love for food with friends and family. He was a lover of old-school video games, often spending hours playing Pac-Man and Super Mario, with the same zest for life he brought to everything else. He was a hardworking and selfless man who would sacrifice his own comfort to help anyone in need, always putting others first.
An adventurous soul, José embraced life with enthusiasm, never afraid to try something new and always looking for the next great experience. He was ambitious, constantly striving to improve and to challenge himself in new ways, all while maintaining the heart of a jokester, prankster, and child at heart.
Jose leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and wisdom. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Jose reunites in heaven by his beloved parents, Federico and Luisa Castoreno.
