It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Jose O. Fraga, who left this world peacefully at home surrounded by his family on October 11, 2026. Born on September 13, 1941, in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Jose was a light of joy and kindness throughout his 85 remarkable years, touching the lives of all who were lucky enough to know him.
Jose was the beloved son of the late Jose Patricio Fraga and Celia Gracia, and he is now joyfully reunited with them and his cherished son, Jose Patricio Fraga, who predeceased him. Left to carry on his tradition is his devoted wife, Sara R. Fraga, who stood by his side throughout their 55 years together. Together, they built a family of nine children: Sara Fraga-Vidal, Jose O. Fraga Jr, Patricia Fraga, Jose De Los Santos, Teresa McGill, Eva Mendoza, Jackie Portales, Joe Agosto, and Luis Agosto. His legacy further extends to his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dad had a few interests. He had a particular love for playing softball and spent countless hours playing poker(Los cincos) with his family. His passion for billiards, particularly 8-ball, is a tradition he passed down through generations. Jose was a master of wit and humor, always ready with a joke to change the mood and make everyone laugh. His playfulness and beautiful smile were his imprint, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
As we say goodbye to this beautiful soul, we hold dear the countless laughs that will forever fill our ears and his funny sayings that we find ourselves repeating. In the words of his family: "Dad, your presence and that smile of yours will truly be missed, but our hearts will forever be filled with your love & laughter. We love you for all eternity, till we meet again."
Jose Fraga's life was a testament of love, laughter, and family. Though he has departed from this world, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace, forever remembered with love and affection.
