

Jose Juan Garcia, "J.J.", age 87, went to meet The Supreme Architect of the Universe on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in a very dignified and graceful manner, surrounded by his loving family. He was known by many as a very sweet, gracious and loving human being.
He is survived by his wife, Leandra B. Garcia; son, Huemac C. Garcia, wife Suzanne, their four children, Tizoc, Joshua, Christopher and Sarah; son, Tlaloc J. Garcia, wife Denise, their two children, Alison, Travis and his wife, Claudia; son, H. Hugo Garcia, wife Barbara, their two children, Matthew and Meghan; son, Hualcoy W. Garcia, wife Emma, their two children, Sophia and Lourdes and husband, Joel Bautista; son, Tonatiuh H. Garcia, partner Garry Tackett, former wife, Jo Keller and their son, Michael A. Garcia and his wife, Mikisha and their two children, Michael, Jr. and Maya; daughter, Xochitl Davis, husband, Michael Davis, their three daughters, Ixchel, Araceli and Xochitl Spearman and husband, MAJ Darren Spearman, M.D. and their son, Noah Michael; J.J.'s great-grandson and pride and joy! He is also survived by his siblings: sister, Romana De La Cruz and brother, Atanacio Garcia and wife Gloria.
J.J. was an expert welder at Alamo Cement for nearly 30 years. He was an active member, Past Master of both Lonnie Irvin Daylight Lodge No. 1309 and Triune Lodge No. 15; also a 32nd Degree member of the Scottish Rite Temple and held a Lifetime Instructor's Certificate and was the Past District Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Texas in the 39th District, and a member and former officer of the Order of the Eastern Star.
He was also an avid volunteer for various community non-profit organizations, including Family Service Association and Blue Knights MC Alamo Chapter~ always willing to help others. J.J. was on the Board of the Homeowners Association of Villa Del Sol Condominiums.
He is preceded in death by his best friend, Elmer Burroughs, P.M.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude and special thanks to the staff of Odyssey Hospice, especially Megan, Angie and Melissa for their sincere and gentle care of our father.
