Jose Maria Mercado

Jose Maria Mercado, age 89, of San Antonio, Texas entered into rest on Tuesday, July 11, 2017. Jose was born on November 27, 1927, in Harlingen, Texas. He retired after working over 31 years for the City of San Antonio as a Truck Driver. Jose was preceded in death by; son, Oscar Mercado; son, Joe Mercado; son, Leonard Mercado; granddaughter; Reba Nicole Mercado, and grandson, Joe Leonard Mercado. He is survived by his wife, Ester Mercado; son, Victor Mercado and his wife Diana; son, Jesse Mercado; daughter, Audelia Mercado; son, Mario Mercado and his wife Cynthia Montes; daughter, Irene Avelar; and daughter, Rosalinda Lozano. Mr. Mercado is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. The Visitation will be held at Trevino Funeral Home, on Palo Alto Road on Monday, July 19, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will on Tuesday, July 20, 2017, at El Carmen Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Committal Service at First Memorial Park Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
