Jose Orosco, 71, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on Sunday, March 23, 1952, in Doctor Arroyo, Nuevo Leon Estados Unidos Mexicanos. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and car enthusiast. He worked as a commercial painter for almost 40 years at L.E. Travis & Sons. He retired at the age of 66 but was never satisfied with sitting still. He continued to “work” by refurbishing fishing rods, reels, and pocket knives which he sold at Mission Flea Market. Also, during his retirement years, you would find him at Calaveras Lake where he enjoyed the peace and tranquility. I do not doubt he is now on God’s fishing team. Jose made many friends throughout his lifetime and touched many hearts. He was always willing to give a helping hand and was considered by many a father, brother, and primo. While we lost our beloved dad, many have lost a friend.
He was preceded to heaven by his parents, Francisco and Maria Del Carmen Cedillo-Orozco; grandparents; brother, Santos Orozco; aunts and uncles. Jose is survived by his daughters, Monica Flores (Martin) and Jessica Orosco (Zara); grandchildren, Megan Flores, Maryssa Flores, Matthew Flores and Michael Flores; brothers, Eustaquio Orozco, Isac Orozco, Trinidad Orozco, Juan Orozco and Alejandro Orozco; sisters Magdelena and Romana; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
