Jose Govea Pereyra was born on June 23, 1947, in Tierra Nueva, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He grew up with his parents, Ricarda and Baldomero, brothers, Romulo, Thomas, Cirino, Antonio, Simon, Job, Guadalupe, and sister, Lala on a ranch named “El Llanito.” At a young age, he started working on the ranch alongside his parents and siblings to help support the family. He had many fond memories of his family’s legacy at “El Llanito.”
Jose was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, family member, friend, and companion whose kindness, strength, love, and resilience touched everyone who knew him. He lived a life centered on faith, family, and hard work, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, integrity, and unwavering love.
His favorite hobbies were riding horses, raising farm animals, fishing, gardening which included planting flowers and growing fruit trees, and building things from the ground up. His favorite pastimes were taking vacations and catching up with family, hitting the flea markets on Sundays, attending the Rodeo and Fiesta every year.
He found joy in spending time with family and friends sharing stories and laughter and making lasting memories with those he cherished most. His wisdom, gentle spirit, and generous heart will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
He is survived by daughters, Antonia, Cristina, and Josefina, son in law, Robert, grandchildren, Marc, Chris, Shariyar, Sheyabhaz, Alexis, Valentino, and Faith, great grandchildren, William, Elijah, Aniyah, Cienna, Josiah, Aniyis, and Esperanza. Brothers and sisters by heart, Lukin, Kip, John, Shannon, and Haley. He was preceded in death by those who welcomed him into Heaven, his parents, Ricarda and Baldomero, his wife, Herlinda, many siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing he is at peace in the presence of the Lord our God. His love will remain with us always and his memory will continue to inspire generations to come.
