Josie, as she was known by, was born to Pedro and Epimenia Pantoja on June 16, 1940, in Nixon, Texas. She graduated Nixon High School in 1960 and moved to San Antonio to begin working for a then fledgling Red McCombs in the insurance department. She married Eulogio Zamarripa in 1968, and they lived together in San Antonio, Texas. They had three daughters, Patricia Adelita, Dina Marie, and Cathy Anne. After her daughters were born, she stopped working and became a stay at home mom. She volunteered many hours at their school, St. Thomas More, helping in the cafeteria, with recess duty, as a substitute teacher, and serving as the health records coordinator. When the girls were older, she went back to work. Her love of children drew her to Little Red Caboose Child Care where she cared for infants at the center. After more than 20 years of dedication to her infants, she retired and continued to care for her mother.
She welcomed her grandchildren in 2000 and in 2014. She shared many adventures with them while showering with them with the love and attention as only a grandmother can.
She is survived by her husband, Eulogio P. Zamarripa, her daughters, Dina Marie Zamarripa and Cathy Anne Zamarripa (Robert Christopher Martinez), along with her grandchildren Brianna Martinez and Nicolas Ramirez. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
