He was born in San Antonio on November 4, 1927, to Donato and Florence Salvitti.
After serving his country in the U.S. Navy, he spent 40 years at Kelly AFB. Joseph was a member of the Bexar County Sheriff's Reserve and the Alzafar Shrine for 42 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Phillip Salvitti.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 31 years, Naomi J. Salvitti; niece, Paula Salvitti Wright and family; nephew, Donato Salvitti; step-children, Mike Lefler and family, Debi Overgaard and family, and Damon Curry and family.
