Josephine Mary Bowles

Josephine Mary Bowles passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. Josephine was born in Tuam, County Galway, Ireland on January 30, 1943. She lived in New York City and the Catskills in upstate New York. San Antonio, Texas had been her home for most of the past 28 years.She was an active member of The Harp and Shamrock Society and The Irish Cultural Society. Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Martin( born in Gurteen, County Sligo, Ireland). She had several brothers and sisters, as well as Martin's only surviving brother, Brendan. She was a beloved, wonderful Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Heartfelt thanks to all her family and friends, especially Msgr. Partick Cronin,Bernadette and special sons, David and Peter, Helen and Duane, Elva and the many medical professionals who lovingly cared for her. Josie will be fondly remembered for her fun enthusiastic manner and her outstanding kindness to all. In lieu of flowers, her family is requesting contributions to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom Road, San Antonio, Texas 78251. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home 6321 Bandera Road on Monday, November 24, 2014 rom 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:30 P.M. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom Road with Rev. Msgr. Patrrick Cronin officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
