During the Great Depression, Josie worked for The New Deal program, National Youth Administration. For the duration of World War II, the Korean War and after, she worked as an aircraft mechanic and repaired sheetmetal battle damage on US bomber aircraft. She was part of the coming together of civilians in the US that proved our strength throughout the world; Josie was an unsung hero recognized as one of the "Rosie the Riveter" women in our defense workforce.
After WWII, she married her returning airman, Jesse in 1945. She always placed family first and left us with a wonderful legacy of a "can do" attitude.
Josephine is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Maria Delgado; her brother Manuel S. Reyna and her beloved husband, Jesse M. Saenz.
She is survived by their sons, Reuben Saenz and Gilbert Saenz; her brother, Anthony S. Reyna and (W) Wally; grandchildren: Angela Heather Saenz, Dion Anthony Saenz (W) Marissa, and Gilbert Fabian Saenz; great-grandchildren: Alexis, David, Rickyray, Amariss, Corrin, Isabella, Anthony, Zeth, and Will; and great-great grandchildren, Anbrielle and Reuben.
We thank her for being the perfect mother, mentor, caregiver and role model that anyone could have, and for always praying for everyone.
