Joshua was born in Eldorado, Texas on June 11th, 1979. He attended school in Sonora, Texas and after graduating from Sonora High School in 1997, he moved with his family to San Antonio, Texas, where he continued his education and graduated with a BA in Organizational Development from the University of the Incarnate Word.
Josh is survived by his parents, Robert and Rhonda Akins; his sister, Jennifer Weaver and her husband, Jeff; Josh’s nephew, Tyler Weaver and wife, Annie; his niece, Hannah; and his nephew, Jacob; and his brother, Roy Thomas Ivy; and brothers, James Kirby and Shawn Whittenberg. He was loved and adored by his many, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Joshua had a heart as big as Texas and his kindness will be remembered by everyone that was blessed to know him.
