

He was a 2005 graduate of Clark High School. While at Clark High, he achieved First Chair All-State Jazz Trombonist. He attended University of Texas-Austin, majoring in music. He was a member of the UT-Austin (Longhorn) Marching Band and Jazz Band. He was honored to be a member of the UT Marching Band when they marched in the Rose Bowl Parade and performed at the Rose Bowl in 2006. He was awarded the Jack G. Taylor Memorial Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Fine Arts. Joshua was a very gifted musician and songwriter. His love in life was his music.
He participated in ACTS retreats and served on many ACTS Teams and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He was a member of STRONG and the Lambda Fraternity. During college he was very involved in numerous activities at University Catholic Center in Austin. Joshua was employed at Eilan Hotel Resort and Spa in San Antonio.
He was preceded in death by his father, David W. Martin, PHD, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his uncle, Ray Makovsky.
Joshua is survived by his mother, Bonita (Bonnie) Martin, his brother, Joseph Robert Martin (17) of San Antonio, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Wisconsin, and his fiance, Moriah Mitchell and her daughter, (Joshua's beloved) Sophia.
