In Loving Memory of Josiah Feliz Cabral Josiah Feliz Cabral of San Antonio, Texas, was welcomed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on December 8, 2025. Affectionately known as “Sai,” Josiah was born on September 2, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas.
In his short but beautiful life, he filled every room with laughter, wonder, and a light that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Josiah attended Henry Steubing Elementary and the Bilingual Child Academy (Eckhert & Stone Oak), where he was embraced by teachers and staff who showed him exceptional love, patience, and understanding. Their care reflected the gentle and special spirit Josiah carried wherever he went.
Of Filipino (Pacific Islander) descent like his father, Josiah learned to swim at a very young age and took naturally to the water. His family often joked that he was destined to become an Olympic swimmer. Swimming brought him endless joy, and he especially loved relaxing spa days with his family—moments filled with laughter and happiness that he shared generously with everyone around him.
Josiah had a curious and joyful soul and found magic in the world around him. He loved bubbles, fireworks, the moon, and rainbows. Nature fascinated him—deer, butterflies, birds, insects, peacocks, dinosaurs, and sea animals such as whales, sharks, stingrays, starfish, crabs, lobsters, and fish all captured his imagination. He loved visiting the aquarium, the zoo, the Doseum, splash pads, parks, and watching airplanes soar across the sky.
Festive seasons brought Josiah great excitement. He experienced his very first trick-or-treat with awe at the characters, decorations, and candy, and he loved light watching during the Halloween (“Spooky Spooky”) and Christmas seasons. He treasured his nightly bedtime stories, enjoyed his baths filled with splashing laughter, and loved being pampered with lavender lotion. Josiah preferred being barefoot and disliked shoes—something his grandma lovingly teased him about. He also loved taking his blanket everywhere he went, finding comfort in having it close by.
His favorite shows included Jack Hartman (Animal Alphabet), Miss Rachel, Simple Music, Sesame Street, Baby Shark, and Cocomelon during his baby years. His favorite movies were The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Sing 2, Sonic the Hedgehog, Shark Tale, Monster House, and Shrek Ever After. He loved riding the Breckenridge Train, enjoying kiddie rides at Peter Piper Pizza, jumping on his trampoline, playing in the sand at home, completing puzzles, wrestling with his dad, and being tickled. After school, one of Josiah’s favorite routines was taking naps with his dad—quiet moments of comfort and closeness, often with his beloved blanket nearby, that became treasured memories his family will hold forever.
Josiah was learning to ride his bike, played with all his toys daily, and loved picking out festive greeting cards from his mom’s collection. He adored his cat and shared an unbreakable bond with his beloved bubba, Jonah. Josiah also had favorite foods that brought him comfort and joy, including bananas, cookies, popcorn, shrimp cocktail, salmon, quesadillas, tortillas, and fideo. He was known for sneaking sips of soda when his parents weren’t watching—small, playful moments his family will always cherish.
Josiah is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Felizardo Deosay Cabral and Jose Maria Sotelo, his great-great grandmother, Sofia Christina Guajardo and great-grandmother Genoveva Guajardo.
