On Saturday, November 23, 2019, Josie Marie Mae Floyd, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend passed away unexpectedly at the age of 25. Josie was born on November 22, 1994 in San Antonio, Texas. On March 25, 2011, Josie (aka “Josie Fuss”) was born again when she blessed her forever family by allowing them to adopt her. Josie graduated from Winston Churchill High School in 2013.
Josie deeply loved her family, friends, country music, dancing, the moon, the beach, live concerts, the river, Winnie the Pooh, Chipotle, Starbucks, and naps. She worked hard for what she wanted in life and was proud of how far she’d come. Her family was so very proud of her, too. Josie was known for having a welcoming smile, loud laugh, and kind heart. She always made others feel beautiful, special and loved as she, herself, was so beautiful, special and loved.
Josie leaves behind her “Mama Bear”, Heather Anne Floyd Solis, dad, Emilio L Solis Jr.; brothers: Jesus, Quinton, Daimon, Miles, Gus and Max; sisters: Sofia, Juliet, and Idahlia; grandmother “Mimi”, Bonnie Floyd, grandparents “Papa” and “E”, Guy and Elisea Floyd, grandparents Emilio Sr. and Delia Solis, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” ~Winnie the Pooh~
Services will be held at Sunset North Funeral Home on Sunday, December 1, 2019. Visitation will be from 3-5 pm and a celebration of Josie’s life will begin at 6 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to local children’s shelters in Josie’s name.
