Josie R. Hernandez

She was born in Detroit, Michigan to Adalia Tanguma and Tiburcio Rodriguez on March 4, 1924. Josie married Ernesto M. Hernandez in June of 1953 and devoted her life to her beloved family, friends and Catholic ministries.

Josie is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ernesto M. Hernandez. She is survived by her loving children, Olga Hernandez, Irma Hernandez, Hector Hernandez, and Abel Hernandez; her grandchildren, Stephanie Fishkind (Bret), Daniel Westerfield, and Ryan Hernandez; and her great-grandchildren, Bryn Fishkind and Brayden Fishkind.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX 78238. Mass will be celebrated, Monday, November 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Burial will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
