Joyce ”Jo” L. Webb Aguirre, born March 17, 1946, in Waterbury, Connecticut to Joe “L” Webb and Marion Alexander was surrounded by family and friends when the good Lord came to take her home on Monday, December 9, 2013. Her family moved to Texas when she was one year old and she grew up in the small, west Texas towns of Seagraves and Denver City. She wasn’t born a Texan, but she got here as fast as she could and very much considered herself a Texan. She married her husband Domingo “Bob” Aguirre in 1977 in Corpus Christi, TX and later retired in Houston, TX. They moved to San Antonio in 2012. Jo worked as an administrative assistant in the aviation, transportation manufacturing, realty and academic setting. Her favorite job was being a nanny where she became very close to several children that were special to her. She liked her kids, but she loved her grandkids and kids that she nannied. She is survived by her husband of 38 years; three children, daughter Rebecca Shrout and husband John, son Lieutenant Commander Russell “Rusty” Braden and his wife Liz, son Dustin “Dusty” Braden and wife Renee; eight grandchildren-Megan, John Steven, Jordan, Ellie, Wyatt, Sadie; two great-grandchildren-Claire and Charlotte; brother John L. Webb; many nieces, nephews, close friends, extended family and many other loved ones she considered her own.
Service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Sunset North Funeral Home in San Antonio. Gathering will begin at 10:30 with a service at 11:30, followed by a reception.
