Joyce E. Bryant

Joyce E. Bryant entered into rest July 21, 2010 in San Antonio at the age of 71. She was born March 22, 1939 in Hammond, LA to the late Willie Gorman & Flora (Duckett) Gorman. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Calvin Bryant in 1999, parents, and six brothers. Survivors include her daughters Anita Bates & her husband Michael Bates, Monique Bryant; grandchildren Micaela Bates, Matthew Bates, Kaitlynn Pearson, Kenady Pearson; brother Johnny Gorman & wife Vivian; sisters Bessie Montgomery, Gloria Williams, Gail Gorman, Doris Hogan & husband Thomas, Rose Ratliff & husband J.D., Portia Andrew; 2 uncles Robert and Edward Duckett; godsons, Fred Watson, Chris Williams, Chris Williams, Ronald Williams; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 26 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 27 at Second Baptist Church, 3310 E. Commerce with Rev. Robert L. Jemerson officiating. The committal service will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
