Joyce McNeese Nicholson

Joyce McNeese Nicholson passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 at the age of 95 in Austin, TX. She was born on January 13, 1923 in Columbia, Mississippi to Robert and Mary McNeese. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of more than 60 years Ed Nicholson; her siblings: Billy McNeese, Welda McNeese, Bootsie Alleman. She is survived by her children: Kay Greenhaw, Gary Nicholson (Kaye); grandchildren: Paul Nicholson (Christy), Amy Jones (Casey), Kelly Cushing (Dan); great-grandchildren: Ian Nicholson, David Nicholson, Evie Jones, Alex Cushing, AJ Cushing, Claire Jones and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Joyce graduated from Mississippi State College for Women. After marrying Ed, an architect, she moved to Texas, where she worked as his secretary. Joyce developed a love for Dancing with the Stars, and rarely missed an episode. This love was only outshone by her adoration of the San Antonio Spurs, and her passion for gardening. The family expresses their gratitude towards her loving caretakers.

A Graveside service will be held, Friday, November 2, 2018 at 3:30 pm, at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral home.
