

Our beloved dad and husband, Juan Benito, 88, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018. Juan was a proud veteran assigned to his duties as a radar operator and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He was a civil servant for 34 years.
He and Amalia met in downtown San Antonio and were blessed with 63 years of devoted marriage. He was one of the many Sidney Lanier High School graduates who obtained an Associate degree from San Antonio College and continued his education at Southwest Texas (Texas State). He was a sports fanatic, with basketball and football as his top games of enjoyment, with the SPURS being near and dear to his heart.
Always together they traveled across and outside the continental United States including Hawaii, Mexico, Republic of San Marino, Vicenza, Venice, and Rome.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nazario and Gregoria A. Benito and his sisters, Josefina and Mercedes, his brother, Jose, and is survived by his sister, Andrea. Juan also is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Amalia; their five children, Yolanda, John (Carolina), Jeffrey, James (Deborah), and Judith (Brian); their twelve grandchildren, Brandon, Christopher, Brian, Cassandra (Christopher), Kyle (Sarah), Samantha, Justin (Paige), Rachael (Timothy), Eric (Celi), Sarah, Ryan, and Lauren; and their six great grandchildren, Aubrie, Tidus, Kainoa, Christopher, Sai, and Daisy.
The family will receive extended family and friends on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Porter Loring on McCullough with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM.
