

Juan Pablo Berlanga, of Chicago, Illinois, was a vibrant soul whose presence was impossible to ignore. Full of energy and life, Juan Pablo lived for dancing, moving through the world with rhythm, joy, and passion.
He was creative and found meaning in tradition, lovingly making and selling bead necklaces and palm crosses during the Lenten season.
Juan Pablo had a good heart and a sensitive spirit. And though he could be hard to love at times, he was always genuine. His sensitivity was part of what made him who he was—human, real, and unforgettable.
He will be remembered for his energy and his creativity. Juan Pablo’s spirit lives on in dance, in faith, and in the memories held by those who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Valentine and Theresa Berlanga, siblings, Gloria Ramirez, Virginia Berlanga, Maria Magdalena Hernandez, and Rodolpho Berlanga.
Juan is survived by his daughter, Crystal Gallego; Son, Nolan Berlanga, grandchildren, Isaiah, JJ, Christian Gallego, siblings, Theresa Guerra, Isabel Martinez, Valentine Berlanga Jr., Pedro Berlanga, Manuel Berlanga, Alfredo Berlanga, Jose Luis Berlanga, Thomas Berlanga, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, located at 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211, February 1, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
