Born on January 23, 1927, Juan was a lifelong resident of San Antonio, where he built a life rooted in faith, hard work, and devotion to his family. He shared a loving marriage with his beloved wife, Consuelo Camargo, whose steadfast love and companionship were a source of strength and joy throughout their nearly 78 years of marriage.
Juan was a devoted father to Frank Camargo, Janie Camargo, and Maria Ijoodpay. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Juan Camargo Jr. He was also a cherished grandfather to Juan Martin Camargo, Monica Camargo, Valerie Camargo, Michael Ijoodpay, Melody Ijoodpay, Matthew Ijoodpay, and Maricela Camargo. He was a great-grandfather to Naomi Gonzalez, Chloe Santos, Ivan Camargo, Zoe Camargo, Brianna Diamond, Gage Diamond, Parisa Ijoodpay, Austin Zimmerman, Cole Zimmerman, Alyssa Prado and, most recently, Amora Stukes.
Those who knew Juan will remember his remarkable craftsmanship and ability to fix and build almost anything. With countless projects around the home, he took pride in caring for his family through his work. Juan also enjoyed fishing, traveling, and playing his accordion.
While our hearts grieve the absence of our father, grandfather, husband, relative, and friend, we take comfort in our faith, trusting that he has been welcomed into the loving presence of the Lord and reunited with those who have gone before him. Until we meet again, may he rest in eternal peace.
