

Juan Molina Cantu was called to be with our Lord on June 14, 2025 at the age of 75. Born in San Antonio, Texas on April 10, 1950, Juan is preceded in death by his parents, Corina Molina and Roberto Cantu, brothers Robert and Idelfonso “Poncho” Cantu and sister Janie Camargo.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Leticia Cantu; children Crystal (Jason) Esparza, John Cantu, Catrina Cantu and Gregorio (Janet) Cantu; brothers, Ruben Cantu and Pedro Gonzalez; sisters, Sylvia Baca, Rosa Sauceda, Irene Apaez, and Susie Cantu Luna; grandchildren Jayce, Calie and Jaxon Esparza, Gianna and Gregorio Cantu Jr. His greatest time was being “Papo” to his grandkids which they lovingly called him.
A proud Army veteran, and descendant of Gregorio Esparza who fought in the battle of the Alamo, Juan served his country in the Vietnam War achieving the rank of Sergeant and one of the few to operate a tank. Following his military service, he worked in iron work and then dedicated many years to civil service, retiring from Lackland AFB. He enjoyed watching all sports but football was his favorite as a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. Juan passionately followed horse racing and was particularly fond of his winning horse, Amber Jo which he told many stories of. He loved watching old movies, listening and singing to all kinds of music, and hosting barbecues. He was always ready to laugh and have a good time and took great joy in seeing everyone around him having fun. Above all, “Papo”loved his family deeply and will be greatly missed!!
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 5:00pm - 10:00 PM with a rosary to follow at 7:00pm, Trevino Funeral Home 2525 Palo Alto Rd. San Antonio, TX 7821.1Funeral service will be on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 9:00am at Trevino Funeral Home with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:15 AM.
