

Juan Luna passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, at the age of 80. He was a devoted husband, beloved father, proud grandfather, and cherished friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Gloria Ann Luna.
Juan leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: daughter Janine L. Chavez and her husband Charles A. Chavez, and daughter Laura Ann Hernandez and her husband Mark A. Hernandez. He is also remembered by his son John Eric Luna. His grandchildren-Matthew Hernandez, Italie Flores, Jax Chavez, Katelyn Hernandez, John Alexander Luna, and Nicholas Luna. He was further blessed with great-grandchildren: Lorenzo Hernandez, Leia Chavez, and Sabrina Hernandez.
Born in Laredo, Texas on February 23, 1945, Juan was the heart of a big, lively family. He loved sharing stories from his youth, often speaking with warmth and humor about his siblings, adventures, and travels. A true Texan, he enjoyed barbecue, poker nights, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs.
Juan and Gloria's love story began in junior high and blossomed through high school at Edgewood High. Their bond was one of deep commitment, joy, and unwavering support, spanning decades of love, laughter, and partnership.
After retiring from City Public Service and Luna Roofing, Juan continued to live fully and joyfully. He had a passion for movies, plants, and working in his yard. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family and friends-those who knew him well knew his dooг and heart were always open.
Juan was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws, all of whom now welcome him with open arms.
Though the past eight years brought health challenges, Juan faced them with the same grit and determination that defined his life. He never stopped striving and inspiring those around him with his courage and resilience.
A Visitation for Juan will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237 with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM. A Processional will depart from the funeral home at 10:00 am for A Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 13, 2025 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 130 S San Augustine Ave, San Antonio, TX 78237. A graveside service San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237 for Burial will be held Friday June 20, 2025 at 1:00pm. All who knew and loved Juan are welcome to attend and celebrate his remarkable life.
