The cherished son of Maria Charles and Valentin Rojas, Juan was born on December 27, 1949, in Piedras Negras, Mexico. He shared a remarkable 55-year marriage with his devoted wife, Sylvia Rojas. Together, they built a loving family that includes their sons, Robert Lopez (Veronica) and Joseph Rojas (Roni), and their daughter, Evangelina Rojas. Juan was also a proud grandfather to Orion Rojas (Kaitlynn), Jacob Rojas (Peytyn), and Jenna Lopez, as well as a great-grandfather to Vivienne Rojas.
Juan spent much of his life in Texas but also lived in California for 27 years. He was a graduate of Edgewood High School and went on to work diligently in the air conditioning industry, specializing in installation and repair. A man of many talents, Juan loved working with his hands and took great pride in remodeling, construction projects, and gardening. In his youth, he enjoyed running track and playing baseball. Later in life, he found joy riding his motorcycle, spending time outdoors, going to the casinos, hosting BBQs, watching movies with his family, and teasing his loved ones with his dry sense of humor.
He is survived by six loving sisters—Beatrice, Mary, Rosa, Alice, Yolanda, Norma—and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Manuel and Guadalupe. Juan was deeply loved by his extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish his loyalty and devotion.
Juan’s legacy is one of love for family and a life well-lived. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
The family will receive guests from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday, June 22, 2026, at Porter Loring Mortuary West, with a service to follow at 12:00 p.m. A reception will be held after the service.
