

Juan Jose Sanchez, affectionately known to friends and family as "Johnny P," passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on July 29, 1955, in Seguin, Texas, Juan was the son of Estefana Hernandez Sanchez and Juan Sanchez.
Juan graduated from Seguin High School in 1973, where he excelled as a football player and forged lifelong friendships. Shortly after graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he discovered a love for baseball, bonding with fellow service members on and off the field.
In 2017, Juan earned his Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree from Texas A&M University-San Antonio, a testament to his unwavering commitment to personal growth and education. He enjoyed a successful career as an electrician, known for his dedication and expertise. After retiring, Juan found joy and fulfillment as the driver for the band LA•45, where he embraced his love for music and the camaraderie it brought.
A passionate BBQ enthusiast, Juan was renowned for his mouthwatering ribs and his unique “chicken in a can” recipe, often bringing family and friends together around the grill. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and his spirited support for the team was a source of joy and camaraderie among those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant brother, Martin Sanchez.
Juan is survived by his loving wife, Mary Margaret Sanchez, his daughters Alessandra L. Sanchez and Andrea De La Garza; grandchildren, Sebastian Avila (Monica Avila), Annette Stark (Geno Villarreal), Janel DeGuzman, and Isabella Grace Sanchez. He also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren, Khloe Evelyn Avila, Richard James Contreras, Dalton John Contreras, and Ethan Jax Avila. Juan is further survived by his siblings, Irma Sanchez and Patricia Rivera (David), along with his beloved dog, Pancho.
Johnny P will be remembered for his warm heart, infectious laughter, and the countless ways he touched the lives of those around him.The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
