

He served his country for 22 years. While serving as a battalion medic in Vietnam he distinguished himself through heroic actions and received the Silver Star and Bronze Star awards. After an honorable career, Juan retired from the US Army and continued his medical service at the Baptist Health System for 20 years.
Juan was a humble and generous man who deeply cared for his family and friends. His faith and love for God carried him through life and allowed him to touch many lives.
He is preceded in death by his wife Anni Zamarripa; his siblings Pablo Zamarripa, Juanita Aguilar, Isabel Ochoa, Jose Zamarripa; daughter Gloria Castro and grandson Jamie Castro. Juan is survived by daughters, Wanda Salinas, Sandra Zamarripa and his sons Martin Zamarripa and Gilbert Barron; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Esther Castillo and Eloqio Zamarripa.
