As far back as I can remember (only 38 years of my life), I cannot think of time when I ever saw grandma weak. I remember how STRONG grandma was in ALL LIFE circumstances. She was a fighter! She accomplished her goals and made it look easy, even though we all know it wasn't. If she wanted something, she went out and found a way. I think her desire was to make a grand difference in the world, and her heart was restless to discover how she could contribute. But I am not sure if she knew the large impact she was already having on our everyday lives--her teaching, her example, her consistent service and generosity to her children and grandchildren.

She lived life to the fullest, she blessed others, blessed her children, and blessed God. We often saw her play the piano in her large, cluttered, two story home! Not many can play the piano, but she can. Probably self taught. I imagine her singing to God alone. She didn't play the piano for large audiences, but I have seen her (a few times) singing unto the Lord, unashamed! As if no one was watching. What a great example. Just like that popular hymn "Though None Go With Me, I Will Follow" That was her attitude.

I am not sure she knew how much she meant to all of us. I wish I could have expressed it better. But I know she is being rewarded now for her faithfulness, her steadiness as a mother, as a worker, as a friend, and as a child of God. I will never forget her example. She is an inspiration to us and I hope that I can finish my race as steady and disciplined and graceful as she has.

Beloved mother you will be missed and not forgotten. I will think of you daily. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:7. Your daughter, Janie.
