
Juanita Lenore Hutton, age 83, passed away after a lengthy illness on February 8, 2011. She was born August 31, 1927, in Louisville, MS to Julia & Marvin Porter and moved with her family to San Antonio in 1941, when her father was offered a job at McArthur Machine. She attended the ninth grade at the Church of the Little Flower, and transferred to Jefferson High School where she graduated in 1945. During high school she worked at Frost Bros business office and later Southwestern Bell Telephone. In 1946, while attending a First Baptist Church at Brackenridge Park with her older sister, Therrell, she met her future husband, Gene (then stationed at Lackland AFB). After marrying, they were stationed in London, UK, where in 1953, she was most excited to attend the coronation parade for Queen Elizabeth II. Other tours of duty took them to Carswell AFB, TX, Tyndall AFB, Fl and Selfridge AFB, MI, before returning to San Antonio where they retired with their family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gene, son-in-law, Pete Kallison, sister, Therrell and brother, Marvin. She is survived by her son, Gary Gene and fiancé, Beth Doherty of San Antonio; and granddaughter, Lindsey of Corpus Christi; daughter, Julia Kallison of San Antonio; and son, Jody Lamar of San Diego, CA; sister, Frances and husband, Bill Goslin of San Antonio and sister, Julia and husband, Jimmy Bowen of San Antonio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
