

Juanita “Janie” Negrete Moreno passed away peacefully on Friday, August 6th, 2021, at the age of 59 surrounded by her beloved family. Janie is preceded in death by her parents Ruben and Alicia Aguilar Negrete; her son Paul G. Martinez; and brothers Richard Negrete, Ruben Negrete, and Antonio Aguilar.
Janie is survived by her children Elisa Martinez, and sons Jesse, Jr. and Chris Moreno, grandson Jesus Gilberto Moreno and numerous other grandchildren; siblings Linda Negrete, Norma Alicia Salazar, Roberto “Beto” Negrete, Carlos “Chale” Aguilar, and Fernando Negrete, as well as extended family and friends.
Janie worked for SAISD as a Teacher’s Aide, and with Parks & Recreation Afterschool and Summer Programs for over 20 years until she retired in 2020. She was a life-time member of the VFW Westside Post #8936. Janie loved to dance and spend time with family and friends. Her greatest passion and thrill in life was to ride on a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The family would like to thank Holy Savior Hospice for their great team of nurses, chaplain, social worker and HHA for their support and compassion during her last days.
Due to restrictions on public gatherings, the visitation at Trevino Funeral Chapel 226 Cupples Road 78237, is limited to 100 guests in the building at a time.
The family will be receiving friends for visitation on Thursday, August 19th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with the Rosary at 7:00 PM. On Friday, August 20th, a Funeral Procession will depart at 9:30 AM from the funeral chapel to arrive at San Juan de Los Lagos Catholic Church 3231 El Paso Street 78207 for Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II 747 Castroville Road 78237.
