Juanita G. White

She is survived by her husband, Vicente Onofre White Sr., their children, Vicente Onofre Jr. (Rachel), Melissa Diane, Gabriel Jesus (Iris), Abigail (Jesse), Juancarlos (Myrna), grandchildren Vicente Onofre III, Carlos Randy, Juanestevan, Alyshia, Bane, Jordis, Juancarlos Jr., Catalina and great-grandchild Adonis Joaquin. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Juanita had an inner strength and resiliency that helped her get through challenging times. She often said, “This too shall pass” and her family will forever keep her memory alive by honoring the valuable lessons she imparted on them.

Born in Sabinas, Hidalgo, Nuevo León on June 26, 1947, her parents Manuel and Aurora Gonzalez moved to Laredo, Texas with her seven siblings. After graduating from Martin High School, Juanita studied cosmetology and hairdressing. She met and married, the love of her life, Vicente in 1969 and they later moved to East Chicago, Indiana. They had five wonderful children and relocated to Laredo in the mid 80’s. After several years in Laredo, they made their final move to San Antonio, Texas, where she was joined by several of her children and grandchildren.

Juanita was generous in spirit and everyone who entered her home was treated to sweet and savory meals. She also loved to quilt and belonged to the “Piecemakers” quilting group at St. Francis of Assisi. Juanita was a woman who led a life of faith and was a parishioner at St. Mathew’s Catholic Church. She kept a candle lit in the foyer of her home and prayed the rosary nightly.

Visitation will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary West on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 6:00 P.M., followed by a rosary at 7:00pm. (Porter Loring West, 1710 W. Loop 1604 North, near Sea World).

A mass will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 10703 Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, 78230.

A graveside service will take place on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 11:15 A.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
