

Judith Faye Siemens passed away at her home in San Antonio, TX at 8:15 PM March 11, 2017 after a long 4 year 9 month battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Lee and Frances Alleen Dufield. She is survived by her husband John L. Siemens, of San Antonio; her daughter, Elizabeth M. Hawley of Montevallo, AL; her son, John Matthew Siemens (Mindy) of San Antonio; her sister, Lisa Emerson of St. Maries, ID; and four grandchildren: Lynnia, Isabel, Trevon, and Dante. Judy was born on July 29th, 1946 in Concordia, KS and later moved with her parents and sister to Kismet, KS. She and her husband John first met in 6th grade and graduated from high school together in May 1964. Judy attended Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, KS and then business college in Wichita, KS. Judy married John March 18, 1967 in Manhattan, KS where John was studying engineering. Later that year they moved to Wichita where Judy worked as an accountant and later as an H&R Block tax consultant while John continued his engineering education. After completing active duty with the United States Army, they settled in Wichita where she was a home maker and mother. After thirty-one years in Wichita, she followed her husband to a new job in San Antonio where she lived 13 years until her death. During her final years in Wichita, she particularly enjoyed being the caregiver for granddaughters Lynnia and Isabel. Judy was a gourmet cook and enjoyed crafts and scrapbooking. She loved to entertain friends and family especially during the holidays. She was an active member of Bulverde United Methodist Church where she participated in bible study groups, knitting groups and led a team of volunteers providing meals to the homeless at "Church Under the Bridge" in downtown San Antonio.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2017, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
