Judy Weaver, age 67, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas after a two and a half year battle with ALS. Judy is remembered for her loving personality and joyous heart that has touched the lives of countless people.
As a devoted wife and mother, Judy's home was full of love and laughter. She was a selfless and devoted partner to her husband. During her husband's 29 years of military duty, she built a home for her family no matter where they lived. She encouraged her children to build strong relationships and always think of others first, just like she did. Judy was known for her abundant hospitality because her home was one of family, where guests quickly felt loved. No stomach was empty; no thirst went unquenched.
Judy's fight with ALS, while stressful and debilitating, was handled with grace and courage.
Her character of heart made her a blessing to others throughout her care. She never complained and continually showed the love of God. Visitors came to cheer her up but left feeling uplifted by her even though she could not speak.
She was born in Morgantown, West Virginia to parents, Ira and Lena (Blaney) Culp. Judy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Russ Weaver; her children, Kimberly Griffith and husband, Bobby and Elizabeth Giles and husband, Jon and Jason Weaver and wife, Katherine; grandchildren, Charisma, Robert, Caleb
and Ryleigh; her brother, Dick Culp and wife, Karen; nephews, Richard Culp and Brian Culp.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, January, 9, 2015, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
