Judy Ann Beard

We were all blessed by the special arrival of Judy Ann Wakefield on July 21st, 1959, to Air Force Sergeant Darrel and Margaret Hannelore Wakefield in Fallon, Nevada. As her father transitioned to civilian life, Judy followed her family to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where she lived, played, and grew with her brother Michael until she left to join the United States Air Force in 1979.

She married Johnny Lawrence Beard from Victoria, Texas in 1980, and among the many wonderful things she did in her life, she brought two children into this world, Alexis Roxy Roxanne and Morgan James. Roxy married George Vangelakos, a University of Texas at San Antonio graduate microbiology student, in 2002. Morgan attends UTSA following graduation from Reagan High School in 2006. Judy spent a number of years at MCI/Worldcom now Verizon as a technician, held in high esteem by her peers and managers alike for her expertise. Judy's husband Johnny is an engineer/manager for General Electric Healthcare.

Judy was the most unselfish and loyal friend anyone could possibly hope for. She spent her entire life making things wonderful for those around her, friends and family alike. Those whose lives she touched, however briefly, will forever be changed for the better, for she was one of a special few brought to this earth to help, guide, and strengthen anyone fortunate enough to know her. For our family, those of us who lived and loved her for what seems all too short a time, we will always joyfully carry her spirit of goodness and bountiful energy within us all the rest of our days.

Our darling girl was preceded in death many years prior by her sisters Margaret and Julie; together they can now wait for the rest of us to join them in the land that knows no sorrow.

Judy's parents, Mr. And Mrs. D.L. Wakefield, live in San Antonio near the remainder of her family, and Mr. And Mrs. L.H. Beard, her in-laws, live in Victoria, TX. Her extended family lives in Wisconsin, Tennessee, New Mexico, and West Virginia.
